Handmade Nerikomi Marbled Ceramic Bowl - ø 26 cm

What makes this bowl absolutely unique is that its pattern is not painted or applied – it is inherent in the material itself. Two clays of different colors, tobacco brown and natural cream, have been mixed and worked together using the Japanese Nerikomi technique, creating swirls, veins, and layers that evoke marble, agate, or the geology of ancient rock.

Each bowl is therefore unique by definition – the pattern can never be identically reproduced.

The shape is wide and generous, almost flat, with a wavy, jagged edge that accentuates the raw and organic character of the piece. The exterior remains unglazed natural stoneware, grounding the piece in the material. The interior is covered with a thin, glossy transparent glaze that reveals and enhances the veins of the mixed clay.

Placed flat on a coffee table, console, or shelf, this bowl is a work of art in its own right. It can hold keys, jewelry, candles, or simply exist for the beauty of its surface.
